An exquisitely worked Tibetan gao is clad in turquoise and inset with coral and lapis. It’s silver back comes off so that the prayer box may be filled with scrolls of a good life’s parameters, a lock of a loved one’s hair or spells of any sort. I have irreverently and untraditionally paired it with chartreuse freshwater pearls and given them an ombre effect by adding darker turquoise chips and darkest lapis lazuli blue. Two light blue Nepali beads flank the gao.
Macramé button and loop closure. The button is an antique Chinese coin.
