This elegant design conveys that you are a woman with a taste for the unusual as well as the classic. Beautiful, large freshwater rose petal keishi pearls are opalescent in their thick lucre. The multi strand choker design sits comfortably around the throat.
The centerpiece is a large Chinese carving of a stylized lock worked here in a light brown serpentine stone.
The lock is a traditional motif in Chinese decorative art, the subject of many jade & stone carvings, silk embroideries and the fabulous woven brocades of Chinese Court robes. It was made frequently in silver, attached to a small torque and put around a young child's neck to “lock” the boy or girl to the world, and prevent the tempting little soul from being stolen away by ghosts.
The necklace closes with carnelian and Australian gasperite beads in my signature button & loop macramé design. It is adjustable in 17″, 18″ and 19″ lengths.
